Create borders before building your video player in Vitomy

Vitomy border sample

You might know this already, but we sometimes get in touch with users of the free version of Vitomy to show them players we make for their brands in the premium version of our video player banding platform. This way, they can get a personalized preview of what their own Vitomy players might look like, complete with call-to-action buttons, logos, and related video playlists.

We’ve got some talented designers cranking these out, but none of this is stuff you couldn’t pull off, too, after familiarizing yourself with programs like PhotoShop (or the comparable, and free, GIMP). Every Monday, we try to post helpful design tips to this blog to help you make the most of Vitomy and enhance the way people experience your brand’s videos.

Recently, we sent a sample player to a free user at a fashion new site. Just to make the look and feel of the player a bit more refined, our designer put black borders around the video window.

But there’s not a border tool in Vitomy itself. So where do these come from? Simple: the background image the video site on actually includes a black block that’s only slightly larger than the video itself, creating a neat, clean border in the finished product. In the image below, we moved the video port out of the way to show you what we mean.

It’s that simple. If you have a free Vitomy account, you can still experiment with premium design features. Try it out and see how you like it. The great, professional quality design you’ve got cooking in your head is probably easier to make yourself than you think.

(Note: We’ve blurred out any parts of the players that might identify the Vitomy user and brand we made this player for.)

Still haven’t signed up for Vitomy? Create your free account now to get a taste. It won’t be long before you see the potential this platform has to bring you more business with your video content.
