How to use Vitomy with your YouTube videos

If you’ve signed up for a Vitomy account, there’s a good chance you already had several videos posted on YouTube. It’s where many companies post their marketing videos and lots maintain a YouTube channel even after they sign up for Vitomy accounts.

Although they eventually realize that a custom player created with Vitomy is the best place for showcasing video, they don’t give up that YouTube account. Even if you are showing most of your featured content on a player built with Vitomy, there’s not much reason to end the YouTube account. After all, why not keep your brand findable on one of the most popular sites on the Internet? The key is using branded video players built with Vitomy in conjunction with YouTube, so that when people come across your content embedded in other pages, they’re not distracted away from your message by “related” content. Luckily, it’s simple to include those YouTube videos on your player.

Getting started is easy. Once you’ve created an account, follow these steps:

  • Build the player – If this is your first Vitomy video player, start out with a template (pick one or create your own). For branding purposes, it’s best to use your own template because that enables you to use your company logo as a background for every video.
  • Add a banner – You don’t need to do this, but why pass up the chance to include a custom banner that links to, say, a direct sales page? Upload a banner and drag and drop it onto the most suitable area of the player.
  • Add your YouTube videos – Click on the “add video” button and then click on the “YouTube link” button in the lower right-hand corner of the player. A box will pop up asking for a link to the YouTube video along with spaces for typing in the title, keywords, and video description. To get the link for one of your YouTube videos, go to the YouTube page that hosts it and click on the “share” button. Copy the link that appears and paste it into the appropriate space in the box that popped up on your Vitomy player. After including information for the title, description, and keywords, click “create” to add the video to your player.

Do this with all of your YouTube videos and you can show them on your branded, custom, Vitomy-built player.
